While they differ in what they’re able to lift – three-and-a-half and five-and-a-half tonnes respectively – these two MA STAR two-post lifts from MAHA UK are made with the quality that its customers come to expect.

Cambridgeshire, 4th May 2022  Both are made from strong and stable torsion-resistant columns of rolled H-section steel, and thanks to their spindle nut packages with self-locking thread, patent-pending ‘giraffe’ nut breakage detection and motor brake, along with their straightforward plug and play LED interface, the MA STAR 3.5 and 5.5 are simple but effective lifts in practice.

There are two different types available – symmetrical and asymmetrical – with the former offering identical lengths of telescopic arms, while the latter can be altered accordingly.

If the bulk of the vehicle’s weight is central, the symmetrical MA STAR 3.5 or 5.5 is the best option, so each of the columns can handle the weight in equal measure; however, if the weight is more sporadic, it might be worth considering the asymmetrical choice.

There are also specific adapters available for these lifts, which lock onto a vehicle’s chassis, as MAHA UK Sales Manager, Nick Austin, explained: “A Ford Transit, for example, features a sill that is cosmetic; therefore, the arms will go underneath the sill. The rubber foot, which connects to the sill normally, will need to be pulled out, then the user will need to put a 200mm sleeve in, push the foot back, and that will then connect to the chassis without coming into contact with the sill.”

After-sales support

As a manufacturer of its own workshop equipment, trusted in MOT stations, MAHA UK is best-placed to maintain its own equipment, offer outstanding after-sales support and warranty packages to suit the customer’s requirements.

MAHA UK calibrates the equipment at the point of installation and concludes the deal with a two-year warranty. It also offers the customer an additional three years extended warranty – essentially covering the equipment for five years all in, which includes original, like-for-like parts and labour.

That’s not all either, as MAHA UK Managing Director, Neil Ebbs, explained: “We can simply offer a calibration contract or a service and maintenance contract – there are three options to explore.

“All are viable and worthy options, considering all of our engineers are experienced, factory-trained and are responsible for the upkeep of our equipment – there’s nothing worse than an engineer turning up to repair or replace a piece of equipment that they’ve never seen before or have no idea what it’s about.”

Should the customer elect for the three-year extended warranty, they then have the choice of an additional five-year warranty or go onto a rolling annual contract at the conclusion of that initial agreement.

Neil added: “It’s peace of mind for the customer – that’s the key to this – they will know where they stand in terms of how much they’ve got to pay every month, so, in the unlikely event there is a problem, they know one of our trained engineers will pay them a visit as quickly as possible – it’s that simple.”
