MAHA UK is celebrating a perfect season for David Drinkwater after the driver secured maximum points from 14 rounds of the 750 Motor Club season – securing the overall title and fourth consecutive Hot Hatch Championship title.

Wisbech, 11th October 2022 Over 16 races, David secured 15 Class C wins and a second-place finish, along with 16 fastest laps. In accordance with 750 Motor Club rules, though, each driver is allowed to ‘drop’ two rounds, meaning David was able to claim 14 wins from 14 races.

The imposing pairing of the BMW E36 Compact and David, who is currently ranked fourth in Autosport’s National Driver Rankings, were the class of the field this year and signed off the campaign with two impressive victories – pushing the winning tally to 17.

The championship-winning car was originally built by MAHA UK’s Louis Tunmore, while David and Will Gibson, fellow racing driver and owner of BMW specialist TWG Automotive, have maintained and fine-tuned the car to suit David’s driving style and speed – it’s a partnership that has taken MAHA UK and David to the pinnacle of 750 Motor Club racing.

Louis said: “Everyone at MAHA UK is thrilled for David. He is a consummate professional, who delivers fast and consistent performances every time he drives onto the circuit, and we’re proud to see him and the MAHA UK brand on top of the podium and earn another championship.”

David added: “It’s been a very enjoyable year – the car has been awesome! It’s never easy to win in multi-class racing, as drivers have to navigate cars in different classes, which obviously have varying speeds, so to clinch another title is a proud moment.

“Many thanks to everyone involved and those that have helped behind the scenes – I couldn’t have done it without them!”

MAHA dynamometers trusted by 750 Motor Club

This season, like in previous, Louis followed the paddock and manned the MAHA UK FPS 2700 dynamometer at each round. Since 2015, 750 Motor Club has employed the services of MAHA UK’s dynamometers for its scrutineering, due to the accuracy and repeatability offered.

Louis said: “It’s vital that rules and regulations are followed to ensure fairness and safety, whether that be ‘power to weight’, classification or power caps, and our dynos are trusted to help implement those.

“What’s more, they are used at race meetings to help ‘spot test’ cars in conjunction with a weight-check.”
